What is VRF Air Conditioning??
VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) is the Air Conditioning System in which Outdoor Units are connected to multiple Indoor Units through refrigerant piping.
VRF system purely uses the Inverter Technology due to which Outdoor Unit vary the speed of compressor with reference to the heat load.
Generally Split ACs are suitable for small & mid sized applications, whereas VRF systems are worked well for mid & large sized applications.
What Makes VRF ACs Desirable??
Low Electricity Consumption-VRF System consumes less electricity compared to Split AC System. Normally Split AC consumes 1 to 1.5 KW of Electricity per Ton, whereas VRF ACs consumes 0.8 to 1 KW of Electricity per Ton.
Less Space Requirement-Outdoor Units of VRF System need less space compared to Split ACs for higher Tonnages.
Piping Length-Maximum allowable Piping length of VRF System is 1000mtr which is too big compared to Split ACs (15mtr to 50mtr). This results in more design flexibility of Air Conditioning System.
Elevation of Building-As one Outdoor Unit of VRF System is connected to multiple Indoor Units & due to large allowable Piping lengths, we can hide the Outdoor units of VRF system by placing it at Terrace level of Ground level.
State of the Art Controls-There are dedicated gateways that connect VRFs with home automation and building management systems (BMS) controllers for centralized control and monitoring. In addition, such gateway solutions are capable of providing remote control operation of all HVAC indoor units over the internet incorporating a simple and friendly user interface. It is possible to supervise & control large numbers of Indoor Units by single Remote Control in VRF System.
